The Hidden Waterfalls Tour has this name for a good reason. An experience that is truly off the beaten track, we estimate that less than 300 travelers have ever visited this undiscovered part of El Salvador.
Your tour guide will be clearing a path with his machete as he/she stops to teach you about the medicinal and edible plants that the local people still use to this day. Then we will arrive at the first of multiple waterfall jumps and naturally carved rockslides for you to enjoy.
This tour has something for everyone and should be the number 1 thing on your itinerary when visiting El Salvador.

Privileged early access in small groups
As Licensed Guide with 400+ successful summits you can be sure I'm one of the most experienced guides for this destination.
The hike goes from the cloud forest on the skirts to the volcanic wasteland at the top. From here you can see the steamy sulfuric-acid lake at the bottom and the multicolored layers of ash on the walls of the crater and Coatepeque caldera lake.
Beyond just a walk, this is an interpretative hike. Learn facts of geology, eruptive history, etc. of the volcanoes.
Skip the crowds, the warmest hours, the lines and the slow walkers and queues.
This is a private departure, not the 10 AM joint hike. This way you go your own pace, making the experience more enjoyable.
The larger the group the slower it goes. Even weather tends to be more favorable on early hours.
Seize more of your day! No hurries, no crowds. Enjoy the views, take pictures.
Looking for an extra challenge? Book for the longer hike to the summit of the volcano.

Izalco is one of the youngest volcanoes in the world (and still active). Reaching its crater is a rewarding but challenging experience! Be prepared to walk on steep slopes, lush cloud forests, uneven ground and (when Mother Nature's in the mood) stunning views.
Called "The Lighthouse of the Pacific" by ancient sailors, this young fella was in a constant eruption since late 1700s, spewing lava flows and debris until it reached an elevation of near 2000 m (6400+ ft).
Near the crater you can still see fumaroles and, from the top, the solidified lava fields spewed during recent eruptions. As well the steep slopes of Cerro Verde waiting for us again.
After getting back to Cerro Verde’s Visitors Center you have been made two volcanoes in one day and can proudly say VENI, VIDI, VICI.
NOTE: this is a challenging hike, proper gear required for safety. Hiking boots/shoes, hydration, sun/rain protection and a good physical shape is a must. Trekking poles highly recommended.

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Cerro Verde National Park, perched atop an ancient extinct volcano. Take a leisurely hike along the volcano's rim, immersing yourself in the stunning views of lush forests, sprawling valleys, and the neighboring volcanoes of Izalco and Santa Ana. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating facts about the region's unique ecosystem and volcanic history.
On the return journey, pass through the charming, historic town of Izalco, founded by the Spanish in the 16th century. Here, you'll witness the traditional art of pupusa-making—a beloved Salvadoran dish. Get hands-on and try crafting your own pupusa, or simply savor the experience by tasting these delicious treats fresh off the griddle.
After a stroll through the colorful streets of Izalco, rich with culture and history, you’ll return to your ship, enriched with unforgettable memories of El Salvador's natural wonders and traditions
